Georgia mechanical, plumbing, fuel gas & energy codes
Georgia's Department of Community Affairs (DCA) adopts mandatory State Minimum Standard Codes with Georgia amendments. Local governments choose whether to enforce them, but any code they enforce must be the state code.
Quick answer: Georgia currently uses the 2024 IMC for mechanical work and the 2024 IPC for plumbing (see sources and dates below). A2L status: Allowed: 2024 IMC Chapter 11 adopted

A2L refrigerants in Georgia
Georgia's 2024 IMC (effective Jan 1, 2026) brings in the model-code A2L provisions: high-probability comfort systems use Group A1 or A2L refrigerant. Georgia's amendments add section 1109.3.2, which requires refrigerant pipe shafts serving A2L or B2L systems to be naturally or mechanically ventilated.
